@ JenkinsBJ you're the one that needs reading comprehension lessons.  Look at Shanes post again:

"This month's Car&Driver test the S4 and BMW 335i, both of which turn 4.9 to sixty. "

Audi S4 I said. S4. Learn to read shanem46. Who said anything about M3 or TTS or any of those other cars you wish you could buy?

no engine is making all of its power at this altitude, not even the ECOBOOST V6. Besides, the Lincoln has the worst power or second worst to weight ratio of the group. Its like 400lbs more than the 550i. That alone erases whatever advantage it supposedly has due to altitude.

Jenkins, You should pick up an auto mag or two every once in a while.  This month's Car&Driver test the S4 and BMW 335i, both of which turn 4.9 to sixty.   Road&Track test the Audi TTS (turbo FOUR) at 4.6 and the BMW 135i at 4.7.  The previous edition BMW M-3 was as quick or quicker than these models, with a naturally aspirated six.  I  believe the turbo fours in the Japanese rally based performance models, Subaru WRX and Mitsi , both are in sub-five second territory.   The Nisson GT-R supercar blows them all away with 0-60 times at about 3.5 seconds.  Then there are the Porsches, the top performance models are in the GT-R range and just about any other (non-turbo) Porsche is sub-5 seconds.  Even the portly new Taurus SHO, all 4367 pounds of it, misses 5 seconds flat by a couple of tenths.
