For those who only saw the video clips on this site and are wondering why Cadillac was not involved, it was because this was about Lincoln with the new Eco6 engine versus some of Europe's best V8 luxury autos. The site as to where the test was done was chosen by Automobile Magazine, not Ford. Fraudbuster needs to get your facts straight. The European cars were chosen by Automobile Magazine and Motor Trend. They decided to have the new Eco6 compete the straight V8s only, not turbos and superchargers. The Jaguar in this competition is the brand new model that Jaguar introduced this year. The Maserati was chosen by Motor Trend as the best 4 door performance luxury car in the world. The other 2 cars were chosen for reasons that I cannot remember. This was shown on Speed TV, not long ago. There was a lot more info than what is shown on line. I am not a Ford fan, but you got to admit, this was very impressive. The complainers need to get over it.

This is fraud masquerading as marketing. The site is called 6vs8 but should really be called turbovsNA. If Lincoln were even vaguely confident of their products performance they'd race it around a track, they wouldn't carefully construct a 'test' in pretty much the only conditions where there car might have an advantage. BMW have plenty of turbo charged engines, why didn't they pick one of those models? Jaguar have a supercharged variant, but they didn't pick that either. The depressing thing is that the MKS might be a good product for all I know, but my abiding impression of both Lincoln and Automobile Mag now is that they're liars. Would I buy a car from a liar? Would you?

To all you folks who worship at the "throne" of all that over-rated,over-priced euro-
trash(and probably think that car and driver magazine is the "bible")thats out there, open your eyes. Lincoln(and Cadillac)make cars that can compete with the rest of the world. GOD BLESS FOMOCO AND (a part of) GM!!!

Well, they could have put a v8 Cadillac CTS-V into the mix, for 60 grand it wouldn't be a comparison.
I mean, jeez, Euro enthusiasts need to stop. European cars are set to so called "higher standards" because they are so expensive. Not only expensive to buy, but expensive to own. I've heard too many stories about BMW and Mercedes reliability and how expensive it is when one of them breaks down.
For what, about 20-30 grand cheaper, Lincoln gives you luxury that looks(from what I saw in the video) just as good, if not better, than the other cars--for less.
The point here is that a cheaper V6 turbocharged can beat those V8's up a hill. Its a statement of engineering.
Lincoln is Ford.
Ford launched the first car FACTORY in 1903 with 28 grand. Your grandparents were probably driving them, yup, even in Europe. Even today its the 2d largest automaker in Europe, it used to own Jaguar, and I'm pretty sure they are right up there with Honda and Toyota in Quality. Oh yeah. .2 of their hybrids are #1. You might bash GM or Chrysler, but don't bash Ford and Lincoln. If they were shitty products they would't have been around for over 100 years.

This test was 100% set up to make the MKS look better than it actually is. The higher the altitude the bigger the advantage of a turbo charged engine. Naturally aspirated engines are sucking for air, much the way one of us would be running at those altitudes. When altitude increases with a turbo charged engine, the car just builds more boost to compensate for change in air density. They should have ran a BMW 535xi in this test, it would have been a much fairer comparison. If you ran this test again at Sea Level, the MKS would get smoked, period.
